can't create thumb images via a module. - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi there - i'm running joomla 2.5/3+ , seems working fine exception in module, module supposed writing thumb image folder (zentools) cannot write thumbnail path correctly. have following permissions on joomla sites directory:
administrator (full control), users (read & execute), iusr (modify), creator owner (full), , system (full). have been troubleshooting weeks , couldn't anywhere. php.ini file , it's file permissions looks correct. believe tmp folder has proper permission well. i'm out of ideas. please advise.
