how to connect multiple endpoints into one straight one line

hello everybody,

 

i made sihlouette of buildings , i"m wanting connect bottom open endpoints 1 straight line. the reason i'm doing because want add fill sihlouette whole instead of doing them 1 one.

 

i tried joining paths can 2 open endpoints @ time. can see picture below, have many open endpoints.

 

the pen tool joins 2 open endpoints. if try continue try add endpoint same line, pen tool becomes "minus anchor point" tool , messes shape of buildings.

 

of course, thought of making each building seperate , grouping them together. however, if that, issue occurs because have buildings "in front" of each other (not in sense of layers, image whole). purposely made sihlouette buildlings in front of each other , behind each other.

 

i hope making sense. don't know if doing possible.

joining them won't getting far.

 

you waht 1 path going round silhouette? take @ pathfinder panel (see manual)
