Problem with caption below image

i have text images, text wraps around images.  use bottom offset allow space text frame caption below.

this worked fine first image, (see above) when try other images, text won't show, , there's red plus sign overset text. clicking plus sign gives me new text frame size of entire column text alignment set top, though set center original caption text frame. (see below)

i have tried using indesign's own caption feature, not work etiher. (images scans no metadata) , can't figure out did right first time ...

using cs 5.5, win xp pro sp3.

in text frame options caption frame check ignore text wrap box.

 

you either want uave enough wrap on image push main text away , leave space caption, in case caption rame must ignore wrap, or want no wrap on bottom , apply wrap caption frame well. tend use second method allows caption vary in number of lines used , adjust amount nai text pushed automatically. can add wrap, or ignore it, part of object style use caption frames.
