Thread: Dual screen crash intel hd graphics

hi,
after 2 months without problems, second screen plugged on laptop has stopped working. works on windows partition. when start computer, see login screen on both screens. when enter password, both screen turn black. if unplug monitor, laptop start normally.

i'm on ubuntu natty, laptop thinkpad e420s intel hd graphics, i5 cpu, 4gb ram.

it update..

roll kernel @ grub startup/boot screen previous version(s).

if fails solve problem history log in synaptic package manager. gives time & date of update activities can bisect problem.
packages culprits xorg, intel drivers & kernel updates.
synaptic allow force specific version install & lock version.

if kernel, synaptic manager lets deal well..

if want throw caution wind... use xorg-edgers ppa intel graphics driver.
there lot of development intel sandybridge & fixing up/completing nehalem/westmere graphics (i3,i5).
never got intel graphics performance before using xorg-edgers.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
