Thread: ubuntu 11.04 x64, sudden restarts

i'm new ubuntu user since few days , have big problem!

i'm using win7,x86 , wanted second os trying out ubuntu. installation fine , works. after grub starts, pc sudden restarts sometimes. happens in grub, after login ubuntu or later. hardware works fine because i'm having no problems starting or working win7.

hardware is:
acer aspire 5680
-core2duo t7200 @2,00ghz
-4 gb memory ddr2
-nvidia geforce go 7200 256mb
-750 gb western digital harddrive

partition ubuntu has 60gb of space, ext4 , reserved 3gb swap.

need problem. thought linux stable os. since i'm using few days had more problems in using win7 or xp many years.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
