Frame Rate Conversion from 18 to 25 fps

i have question concerning frame rate conversion 18 fps 25 fps in after effects.

 

rather adding frame-copy each third frames or pulldown technique, prefer more sophisticated method in order avoid jerky playback of fast moving scenes. watched andrew kramer’s video tutorial (http://library.creativecow.net/articles/kramer_andrew/fps.php) , downloaded plug-in.

 

the problem have scan of 18 fps super-8 film made “müller hm73 photo framescanner” (http://www.filmfabriek.nl/home.html) resulting in series of individual photo’s of high quality; superior compared regular video-scanning.  20 minutes filmreel however, gives avi-file of 75 gb!

 

i intend make dvd of movies. therefor, conversion 25 fps (i live in pal country) needed. work in hd. following andrew’s recipe however, estimated render time 20 minutes in excess of 30 hours! have tried lower filesize first using media encoder. can not keep frame rate @ 18 fps , converted 25 fps, used remove pulldown in ae interpret footage , andrew’s trick – without success.

 

anyone has idea how speed process?

 

my hw , sw follows: intel i7-2600 lga1155 processor on asus p8z68-vpro motherboard 16 gb ram. gtx570. windows 7 sp1. production premium cs6 updated till today.

simply buy revisionfx' twixtor or accept long render times using ae's own slow routines. things can't changed.
