text relocation error in Fedora... any ideas?
hi, not sure if right place but... running fedora 12 , using firefox 10.0.1. tried installing latest linux flash player plugin (11.2.202.236) last night fedora repositories. installed when tried visit site using firefox had flash content got security violation warning plugin requires text relocation , allowing open security holes. didn't error last version of flash plugin used (10.0 believe). little digging , found utility program check text relocations. suggests plugin needs recomplied -fpic or -fpic switches on compile line. today downloaded archived versions of 2.202.235 , 2.202.233 , both give same suggestion using utility program. however, current 64-bit linux plugin doesn't give such warnings seems ok. else run this? current libflashplayer.so compiled -fpic switch? ideas? i'd rather not have upgrade , re-install bunch of packages.
ps) should mention firefox refuses load plugin because of security warning can't access flash content.
forwarding 1 of our linux guys. might take few days, i'll let know have say.
