Thread: File as "Link to web page"


hi,

want create file when double clicked want specific web page opened default web browser.

can done in kde selecting "create new, link location (url)" @ right click menu (context menu).

how can this? searched couldn't find, sorry.

i'm using ubuntu 11.04.

i cant speak other browsers, firefox can drag link using favicon (to left of address bar) desktop...link auto created.


//edit: ok works chromium, not midori. link made in chromium opened default browser (firefox) when clicked it.

otherwise create new file , insert following;
code:
#bin bash! <name of browser> <web address>
so link page using firefox ;

#bin bash! firefox http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10960608#post10960608
(dont forget make executable in files properties menu)
more effort dragging , dropping

using 11.04 in classic or unity mode.
