Thread: Ubuntu 10.04 Server Security?

hi,

got vps few weeks ago, , i've been playing various linux distros made available vps.

far, i'm quite impressed ubuntu 10.04 lts have question hope not silly ask.

noticed many of software packages not latest - example,

apache2 - 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.4

on apache's changelog:
http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/changes_2.2

latest version 2.2.19 has several security fixes/patches.

so, question - software packages comes ubuntu 10.04 lts secure enough production server?

i've done:
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

ensure installed packages date.

many insights , advice!

if there important security fix, ubuntu make available through security repository.

don't let version number fool - package maintainers backport security fixes older versions, apache 2.2.14 date security-wise.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
