Truth or Hype? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i looking use joomla cms refreshed site. have heard , read 'easy' use non-coders. after scratching surface (installing joomla, looking @ templates, attempting mods) not sure 'easy' describes platform. non-coder getting feeling (potentially more) coding experience pre-req implementing joomla site. true or false? thoughts around appreciated... in advance.

what "mods" attempting lead believe using joomla not easy?

no coding knowledge necessary 1 install , build joomla site. need know:

[*] how create database , user database (this easy procedure done in hosting control panel)

[*] use ftp program such filezilla upload joomla files

[*] follow simple instructions during installation

[*] follow tutorials started on easy task of adding content, menus, etc.

there many extensions available in jed (joomla extensions directory) add further functionality (i.e. image slider, photo gallery, event booking, ecommerce, forums, etc.) can install without knowing how code.

http://extensions.joomla.org/

if want start modifying things such templates is know css or if need add functionality site not available using extension need how code part there extension close need.
