after effects cs6 hanging on startup-ray-traced 3d

whenever i  quit ae, try relaunch, program hangs on startup widow "cleaning : ray-traced 3d: initializing. expect 1 minute delay" - hangs , hangs - activity monitor shows after effects not responding, , 1 of processors pegged @ 100%.

i've tried removing quicktime components, turning off virus barrier/firewall, trashing prefs, rebuilding permissions. restart of computer allows me relaunch ae successfully.

 

anyone else experiencing this?

 

 

os x 10.6.8 snow leopard

 

after effects 11.0.1 cs6

 

macpro 3,1

quad-core intel xeon 2.8 ghz 8 core

20gb ram

nvidia geforce gtx 285

blackmagic hdlinkpro dvi

make sure card in supported list. can add it. don't have link technique handy it's here on forum.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
