Failed upgrade using jupgrade - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
edit: after typing long post: fear might have gone detail, why did, want supply info can , think relevant, understand why happens/happened. twice. i'd say: thank attention , support upfront!

after many hickups (inexperienced in upgrading , altering settings on hosters server, support docs @ 1 time this, , in section else) got jupgrade work (also after setting permissions 777 on tmp , cache folders), measure uploaded , extracted stable 2.5.8 package myself jupgrade folder in root of site, since somehow didn't seem jupgrade downloading anything. typing think therein might lie problem (in jupgrade might have been developed "a" plain 2.5 version of joomla instead of 2.5.8 version supplying now), expert opinion still much, please....
i want upgrade 1.5.26 2.5.8. or if think should go 3 @ moment (since use vm, jcomments, nonumber, akeeba backup, jce, think can without rest , think mentioned supported under j3, need check vm still sure though).
however, after having rolled out update jupgrade in did checks etc , did not come errors, , going /jupgrade/site site, seemingly working (it shows articles), was expecting, since stuff needed enabled, rearranged, template etc. tried login backend via:

of course question is: went wrong , can fix it? have limited time want understand (if ever want ahead stuff) , have spent 2.5 days on-and-off getting here.
to me seems has got languagesettings (dutch) had front-end , english backend. got language installer in /jupgrade folder site , installed dutch too. did not thing. made sure set default language english front , backend before tried upgrade procedure 2nd time. no avail.
i thinking of setting new joomla 3 site, after exporting content xml xml exporter read about, reinstalling components etc, importing data , done it. come whole new set of problems still , not me understand of (just tiny bit @ time) better. problem being: suspecting new version of joomla/vm there new problems solve when upgrading that, , if throw in towel in way every time... well... that's wrong me.
