Joomla & Wordpress CAN'T Work Together or What? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
this becoming beyond irritating.
i have client has joomla site , wanted whole new site in wordpress. created site on server , once install wordpress onto client's server (even without changing has joomla site) stupid "database error: unable connect database:could not connect mysql" error.
what i've done far:
* before installing wordpress, had db joomla 'localhost' , worked fine.
* checked configuration.php file make sure of credentials correct, , are.
* checked wp-config.php file make sure didn't have them pointing same database (they're not)
now, if delete install of wordpress, joomla works fine. apparently not bff's?
can maybe me this? doesn't make sense keep editing site on server isn't going hold site anyway. i'd rather make further edits on actual server.
thanks,
mona
p.s. client using 1and1 hosting

did happen install wp files same directory joomla installation? you'd preferably want wp files in sub-folder of public_html directory.
