Thread: Access Permissions Over LAN


i use elderly pentium iii machine, xubuntu, backup machine. xp machine , wife's xp machine backup on lan.

backups 2 partitions on linux machine , these 2 lines in fstab set up

uuid=24e44887e4485d64 /media/backupkw ntfs utf8,unmask=000
uuid=d4d46edfd46ec37a /media/backupdw ntfs utf8,unmask=000

can access partition backupkw xp machines , run backups but, although partition backupdw viewable, attempt write met message access denied.

missing please?

how accessing these partitions xp boxes? samba? if so, can see relevant sections samba config file?

if using samba, accounts accessing these shares, have created samba accounts them (smbpasswd -a)?

, finally, permissions these 2 mount points like?
