Thread: error messages on boot up, and system monitor not closing

hi,

i'm big newbie linux, please gentle!

i'm running xubuntu version 10.04 lts (which upgrade intrepid ibex had installed live cd).

has been more or less fine, give or take odd wireless problem i've fixed. i've been installing various packages , when find might need them.

yesterday started getting problem on startup - system monitor appears, seems working ok, won't close in normal way: have use system monitor close itself! in addition, can see lot of "i/o blah blah" error messages of kind when boot, though still starts no problems. don't know if they're connected both issues appeared @ same time.

apart slight inconvenience, doesn't seem affecting else, concerns me bit.

post error messages, not sure how find them :s
