Thread: How low can you go? Linux with beginner interface in 256Mb

suppose had p3 256mb of ram. suppose desktop pc or laptop being used desktop wifi wasn't important , power saving didn't matter much. suppose there wired internet connection.
use case web browsing, light word-processing , printing, , little use of usb connectible camera , music player.
has come across distro 'just work' these specs , allow reasonable performance? used not computer ace , has used xp @ work?
has cracked flash (my standard test youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c08i_9gumjs)?
installing minimal iso icewm, thunar, feh , abiword/gnumeric/cups/chrome , restricted-extras. i'd trying avoid network manager.
have reinvented lubuntu?
