Thread: Port Forwarding in Ubuntu 11.04 under VirtualBox

[if not require configuring in ubuntu, please ignore post or may deleted admins.
new this, problem may have modem, virtualbox, , ubuntu. appreciated.]

running ubuntu 11.04 using virtualbox on win xp machine. server running inside ubuntu needs accessible
outside on port 27080. i've chosen "bridged adapter" option through virtualbox.

so, ip's like:
windows (host) ip: 192.168.1.11
ubuntu (vm) ip: 192.168.1.3

server running on port 27080 accessible windows system. problem lies forwarding ports outside users can access it.

use beetel 220x adsl modem. i've tried using port-forwarding (virtual server option in modem config), put linux vm's ip destination forward specific port. i've tried configuring modem in dmz mode putting linux vm's ip dmz host ip address. nothing has worked far!

believe ubuntu not run firewall default, there specific settings inside linux vm need done make work?
