hy folks, im trying register openpgp key in launchpad
importing openpgp key

import openpgp key launchpad, first need key's fingerprint.

note: must ensure key in ubuntu keyserver before try add launchpad.

retrieving key in ubuntu

easiest way generate new openpgp key in ubuntu use passwords , encryption keys tool. if using ubuntu 10.04 or earlier version, located @ applications > accessories > passwords , encryption keys. in ubuntu 10.10 , later versions, located @ system > preferences > passwords , encryption keys.

step 1 open passwords , encryption keys.

step 2 select personal keys tab, select key , open property window pressing space bar or double clicking pointer. select details tab of property window.

step 3 select fingerprint text (the ten blocks of numbers , letter). copy text pressing ctrl+c keys together.

retrieving key using gpg command

open terminal , enter:

gpg --fingerprint

gpg display message similar to:

pub 1024d/12345678 2007-01-26
key fingerprint = 0464 39cd 2486 190a 2c5a 0739 0e68 04dc 16e7 cb72
geoffrey hayes (my openpgp key) <geoffrey@bungle.com>
sub 2048g/abcdef12 2007-01-26

highlight , copy numeric fingerprint: 0464 39cd 2486 190a 2c5a 0739 0e68 04dc 16e7 cb72 in example above.
so followed these instructions, , there nothing in "personal keys", same command. question how fingerprint able register key in launchpad?
