Unknown Joomla and Extensions update status - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello can help. have searched forum in regards issue , unfortunately still unable resolve. have close 10 joomla installs showing error in backend control panel. "unknown joomla update status" , "unknown extensions update status".

i have contacted hosting company , there last response:
"this strange didn't change on our server create issue.
also i'm able ping joomla update server:

currently site doesn't generate apache error messages.
did try contact joomla developers check issue?

i have read before jcomment extension can cause problem, have brand new joomla 2.5.8 install no added extensions showing error.

go extension manager>click purge cache > use maintenance in global config. clean entire browser cache , reload browser , site..your issue resolved

note host dramatically outdated. many extensions wont work n site since on php 5.3.xx advised use in joomla @ present. (i not sure joomla updater works in php 5.2.17! : admin tools wont , joomla updater written based on that)
