CS6 Pen tool and Path confusion

hi again all,

 

this driving me nuts! has else noticed pen tool?

 

if have 2 anchor points curve, used able grab path (rubber band) between 2 points , drag, alter shape , size of curve, while keeping angle of axis points same.

this great , developed style find quick , accurate using method.

 

however in cs6, when grab path , drag, changes angle of axis points altering shape of path. when grab path, point start move! not anchored.. used able "roll" path around curve.. drags away.

 

illustrator cs6 works want to... try yourselves. create square using pen, add point in middle of 2 of edges , delete original point in between (you'll need create axis points in illustrator). should have 4 points , curve.. drag path , see difference between illustrator , ps..

 

can stop behavior? causing me grief!.. know there'll loads of people saying click , drag create curve after 10 years doing way, that's gonna kinda hard do!
