Hiding menu items individually but keeping them published - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi guys,
this long standing problem me. i've put @ least 60 joomla sites on years , 1 thing still can't figure out!
quite use 3rd party module generated seblod, raxo or similar (or joomla newsfeed module itself) link articles not associated current menu item.
the way create menu item called "single-article" category blog layout 0 articles selected display child of top level menu item landing page / index page of area of site. causes it's parent appear selected when reading article of category.
if can, hide menu item setting end level 1 within joomla menu module. fine long 1 level required across entire menu.
unfortunately isn't case need level 2 menu items on same menu.
i solve issue in 2 ways, both of not ideal
1. adding custom css class "single-article" menu id set "display:none;" - not ideal , dirty hack.
2. putting "single-article" in hidden menu. unfortunately has effect of no visible parent menu item being selected whilst article being read.
unpublishing menu items means url not accessible, that's not option. far can tell there doesn't seem way hide menu items individually.
can shed light on please? apologies long post!
everywhere solve find explanations creating hidden menu / phantom menu. not i'm looking for!
cheers,
mark
