Menu items and panels gone

hi,

 

we having problem 1 of our installations of indesign cs4 (6.0.6) on pc, windows xp, on user account administrator's rights.

it issue described many times on forums:

 

all of sudden, pallets stopped showing correctly - such pages appeared blank, until realized thumbnails showed far right in panel, , revealed when panel extended on half of screen.

 

we tried delete preferences trick on startup, not didn't in fact panels (pallets) disappeared, , along them, many items in menus disappeared well. example, under window, there 3 items (arrange, workspace , object & layout > pathfinder).

 

finally, indesign started showing error message "adobe indesign missing required files. please re-install.", referring files in typesupport folder. (the files there, apparently inaccessible id.)

 

so problem account's permissions. however, can't find way how fix it.

 

what we've tried , did not help:

- rebuilding preferences

- hitting tab key

- removing current workspaces workspaces folder

- running id in compatibility mode

following hints here: http://www.adobe.com/go/kb408055, these did not work us:

- setting permissions indesign key in registry

- setting rights on presets folder

- renaming locale folders

 

we cannot repair or uninstall indesign - setup.exe freezes @ point, without message, again not able access files.

 

the thing works run indesign using account (with same rights, apparently). however, not solution, there many things connected our current account.

 

also, can run other cs4 apps on current account.

 

so, there way, please, make indesign access again needs?

sounds user account damaged. might try logging in on new admin account, copying profile accoutn tested , found worked account problems, or might faster , easier uninstall, run clean tool (cs cleaner tool installation problems | ccm, cs6, cs5.5, cs5, cs4, cs3) , reinstall.

 

see replace preferences things might want easy reinstallation.
