refine edge contamination I think!!!

it hard explain here goes....if display image , take quick selection tool , make circle or formation , if paint on either side of selection distict line of have paint , seperated selection is. in other words painted pure , color painted. , way should , brush 100% opacity. ok easy part............if take same selection , refine edge on , make adjustment in refine edge...ie...move radius slider or other control moves selection , selection larger or smaller not make difference , ok , image , go paint there discoloration within painted surface not color discolored or contaminated...even when give command remove contaminated colors still there , on layer can see little square in varying shades of grey...it makes no differece if rid of contaminated colors....i still discoloration...i hope explanation clear , else has had problem , there fix it
