Text Field Problems

subject: creating form user input.

 

the text field allows user type in more information visible portion of text field. see can limit number of characters not option. depending on character or if capitalized total length of string change text hidden or leave space before end. how can text field stop user adding more text when reaching end?

 

another question:

my form asks question answer starts on same line , continues below. text field below wider (width of page) can't find option of odd shape text field accommodate this. far place text field on short line , add text field on line below. can't find 2 text fields can joined , text cascade 1 other.

 

my impressioin:

so far not impressed option text fields cannot sized through properties.

 

you cannot change text box form adds check box without deleting text field , creating check box. additionally if copy , paste check box multiple times creates new check box connected original. have rename each check box otherwise if user selects check box check boxes copied , paste receive check.

 

similarly if copy text field , paste form without renaming field type first text field automatically shown in text fields paste form.

 

the text box height not resize when selecting font size. have go out of edit , type text field see if the  complete font shown or there space.

 

there has better form making software available. can provide information towards other software may more suitable , eliminate issues pointed out above?

to prevent user entering text beyond size of field - set font's size other 'auto', , uncheck 'scroll long text' , 'multiline' checkboxes in 'options' tab. if need multiline text, text scroll. setting size 'auto' reduce text fit box (it fit 1 line if multiline off, or entire box if multiline on)

 

most of complaints don't agree with. why should field resize when change font size? that's decide size/position/properties of field. have ability select multiple fields , set them same height/width/both.

 

and copy pasting field shares same value, that's thing. allows show same information in multiple areas easily. need change field's name if want have different value (shouldn't field's name different if value represents different?).

 

there alternative acrobat pdf forms, can use adobe livecycle create dynamic pdf forms. more advanced (you can create dynamic fields change size, can added line items, , more). it's larger learning curve.

 

if think using acrobats form features problem, try creating form in microsoft word.
