Thread: Desktop restarts unmotivated

i installed ubuntu 11.04 64bit on sony vaio vpcf12m1e , good. thing i've done sofar install proprietary drivers nvidia gfx, conky desktop , apt-get update , apt-get upgrade...

happens when i'm on desktop, restarts unmotivated. means disappears except background image. don't know if x restarts, or gnome window manager?

i'm not computer wizard, sofar i've nailed down not being conky (originally thought that) since desktop have restarted when conky running (ran killall conky)

can me?

i've reinstalled ubuntu see if problem occurs after fresh install. let ran without updates day without problems.

installed proprietary nvidia drivers , ran day. still no problems.

reinstalled conky yersterday repository , started make desktop restart/flicker.

happens when open panel menu "applications place system".

know how solve problem?

should add still happens when conky isn't running.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
