Thread: Gparted partition resize

i downloaded/installed gparted want resize ubuntu more hdd space in partition , reduce ntfs partition size. there faster way gparted in ubuntu? remembered in previous versions of ubuntu gparted had mbr can't find info this.

is ntfs partition windows partition (i.e. have windows installed on it), or data partition?

if it's windows, i'd recommend shrinking windows rather gparted. if it's data, make sure backed , tested, , use gparted shrink it, , expand ubuntu partition unallocated space.
should able unmount ntfs partition shrink down, play around ubuntu partition going have either create gparted live cd, or boot ubuntu live cd , open gparted live cd environment, not able change ubuntu partition while mounted.
