Why do screenshot borders get cropped when they're imported?
hi, framemaker 10 windows 7, images created in snagit 10 , snagit 8.
hi,
first of thank great help, van kurtz! have problem.
when take screenshot, put border around in snagit. import images in anchored frames, i've managed tame. however, image imports without borders. use 300dpi , tried reducing 275, can't reduce more company requests use 300 , also, images blurry.
after import, hold shift key drag border of image size want in anchored frame (btw there way automatically, in indesign?) , there still no border (and there wasn't 1 when image imported).
why border cropped? usually happens @ 1 or 2 sides, not completely, bottom or right sides, , randomly. image inside anchored frame.
thank in advance!
susan
ps thought might solved when saved doc pdf, no. , printed doc identical pdf on screen.
pss fault of older version of snagit (8)? used snagit 10 til trial ran out , forced switch 8. may didn't notice problem until recently, of images in document okay borders complete.
i not know applying borders in snagit, pdf output check. not rely on see in framemaker file. sure save file snagit in standard bitmap format, such tiff, jpeg, bmp, or eps.
when import bitmap file, such tiff, jpg, or bmp, dialog should display allowing set size want graphic display in framemaker file. choices expressed in dpi inches (or points or picas) in parentheses. note not change logical resolution (dpi) of image, physical display size. process not resample or downsample image. so, can keep screenshots @ 300 dpi; lowering resolution has nothing border issue.
regarding border, can open file in bitmap editor, preferrably photoshop, , make sure there. if is, framemaker should not remove it. if not there, framemaker not problem.
also, thickness of border? if 1 pixel , scale image down, may not visible in pdf. in acrobat, magnify pdf make sure border or not there.
van
