adobe flash plugin under linux KDE
i've installed latest flash player plugin using tar.gz archive , checked via youtube.
now see "global settings" menu available (wasn't available before) click returns
with message "library kcm_adobe_flash_player wasn't found" kde shell. see in
/usr/share/kde4/services/kcm_adobe_flash_player.desktop
exec=kcmshell4 kcm_adobe_flash_player
while kcm_adobe_flash_player not includded. so, can grub kcm_adobe_flash_player?
other question: means line
notshowin=kde;
in
/usr/share/applications/flash-player-properties.desktop?
is smth unavailable in kde?
--------------------
os: kubuntu 12.04 x86-64
browser: 14.0.1 firefox
adobe plugin: 11,2,202,238
i tried on fresh fedora 17 kde install , worked fine.
did make sure uninstall previous versions of flash player? when grabbed tar.gz file how did install it? followed readme did following:
- extracted contents of tar.gz
- copied libflashplayer.so binary ~/.mozilla/plugins
$: cp libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/. - copied(as root) contents of usr /usr
#: cp -r usr/* /usr
i launched firefox , right click on flash content , selected "global settings..." native control panel launched expected.
please try steps above.
side note: realize on x86_64. firefox 64-bit also? flash player binary 64-bit? try steps above while setup similar environment yours. thanks...
