Editing 1080p and final output will be 720p - a quick question

a client brought me card 1920x1080 24p footage avchd footage (mts files). think panasonic prosumer camera. because zooming through lot of footage tighter closeups (of discussion panel especially), have decided output 1280x720 24p highest quality. allowed me pan , scan 1080p without losing pixels, or choose show full-screen.

not done, realized edited in 1080p sequence. iam wondering if should make new 720p sequence , scale of footage (including 1080p titles , lower thirds, etc) before rendering out. ( i.e. in 1080p timeline clip full-frame @ 100% scale - wheras same clip fills frame @ when scaled 66.7 in 720p timeline, , clip needs rendering) pretty sure premiere deals native 1080p footage either way , doesn't matter - if knows of reason 720p output quality suffer in way without editing in actual 720p timeline, please advise. wouldn't work either way re-do it, if means better output...

any , comments welcome... thanks!

you can edit 1080p in 1080p sequence , export 720p without problem. don't think want do.

however, perhaps don't understand meant.

if zoomed 1080p footage - did lose quality. if @ clips see on 100% in motion effect's scale parameter. right?

if had edited in 720p sequence, have needed scale down whatever did not want see zoomed in described. not scaling down, have looked zoomed in without loss of quality - because still @ 100%. if needed zoom in more, , risk quality loss, less loss in 1080p sequence.

so, basically, yes, need select , copy entire sequence , paste 720p sequence. resize everything. non zoomed footage 66.7 figure , zoomed in footage 100%. suggest 100% because know when have exceeded 100% , able make informed decision zooming past 100%.

make sense? or did not understand needs?

i remember shooting video hdv camera in days when posting videos @ 320x240 save bandwidth because people still using dial-up modems, or because our web sites had monthly bandwidth restrictions. shoot 1080 able zoom way in editing in 320x240 sequence. although called timeline then, not sequence, since there 1 per project.

i shot surfers in video pretty great distance. but, since needed small part of hdv frame in tiny little frame, looks able relatively close. here frame video entered contest on these forums years ago. tiny little bit in hdv frame. in 320x240 frame fits quite nicely.
