Modified exposure stacking script in CS5

not sure i'm asking in right place, perhaps bit of background in order.

i'm using image stacking exposure accumulation using builtin summation script in cs5. works unless there moderately bright regions in image, blow out. current workaround hdr single frame (or two) summed image.

is possible write script scaled summation? is, instead of \sum_i (x_i), x_i i^{th} pixel luminance use \sum_i (a_i x_i) a_i scaling coefficient ensures summed value not blow out, chosen automatically script (sorry texspeak -- hope meaning clear).

seem me need actual pixel values in raw file -- there way information in cs5?
