Thread: Cannot connect to wireless using wicd

i running natty on lenovo t410. can connect wireless no problem using panel applet not using wicd. syslog shows trying dhcp address , timing out no lease offers. think big clue if monitor wlan0 using wireshark no traffic @ when tries connect, whereas applet see dhcp traffic. seems though wicd connecting wrong wlan0. running "dhclient wlan0" directly gives same behavior wicd. need use wicd because typically run enlightenment can't use ubuntu applet.

suggestions? thanks.

i rather suspect conflict; sort of 4 hands on steering wheel. suggest remove panel applet altogether:
code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge network-manage*
reboot, click wicd , smile.
