Thread: Moving files from WUBI virtual drive to Windows 7 folder
hello,
having trouble dual boot windows 7 , ubuntu 11 on netbook. had trouble installing ubuntu , tried via wubi , ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso. when installed programs in control panel see ubuntu listed program, leads me believe wubi worked.
after restart, ubuntu worked. copied huge number of music files music folder in ubuntu , shut down. things seemed working fine. able access ubuntu 2 times in total. now, if choose ubuntu boot menu, doesn't load. in regular mode black screen blinking cursor. in recovery mode lot of script , blinking cursor @ end; no prompt.
want copy music files music folder in windows. tried wubildr overwrite patch load ubuntu (so can move files memory card), didn't work. failing thought try find files through windows instead. tried using explore2fs, either can't use or it's not working. able install virtual volumes (maybe same explore2fs?) described in link , can see files , locate root.disk , swap.disk files in c:\ubuntu\disks if try double-click on root.disk program freezes , goes unresponsive mode.
complete beginner dual-boot systems, understand ubuntu through wubi not partitioned section of hard drive, in fact launched program windows. plan on getting rid of (uninstalling ubuntu in windows), partitioning , installing separately, want recover these files first. need with. considered migrating wubi full partitioned os fear complicated me and/or not bring music files it.
not programmer , barely grasping doing, need clear instructions. appreciate help.
thank you,
aleksandra
you should able see windows partition located @ /host nautilus -- , drag , drop files there.
