Thread: My netbook has killed my camera!

i plugged camera netbook (now running natty narwhal) , looked @ new pictures went 'safely remove' , unplugged , got message saying had gone wrong - can't remember wording.
when plugged main computer wouldn't open , after few attempts light stopped coming on. completey dead, new batteries.
i've tried old flash drive in netbook , ok bit worried happening again when new camera. can anyon explain might have happened , how avoid in future?
