Thread: ESSID not being assigned at boot

so threw server box again first time in while (new memory ftw), , after googlefu , remembertizing last time got network , running. zonet card ralink 3062 chipset, connecting wpa2 network.

anyways, etc/network/interfaces looks so

code:
auto ra0 iface ra0 inet dhcp wpa-conf managed wpa-ssid youcanthandlemyssidorthetruth wpa-key-mgmt wpa-psk wpa-psk hexyhexyhexyhexadecimalhexnumbershexhexhexhexhexhexhex iface lo inet loopback
upon restarting networking (btw when heck did etc/init.d/networking restart deprecated?) via old way or ifdown , ifup on interface, works. upon rebooting however, no connectivity. running iwconfig before , after restarting networking shows configuration isnt assigning ssid , such interfaces file until restart networking manually. not huge issue, bit of pain, if need reboot remotely , log in. cant ssh box restart network if network isnt

ideas how fix guys?
in advance
