Thread: Installation of Ubuntu alongside Windows 2008 Server and Windows XP

hi, here's problem:

have windows xp pro , windows 2008 server installed. want install ubuntu linux.

chose "something else" during installation. drive table looks follows:

/dev/sda1, ntfs, (winxp)
/dev/sda2, ntfs, (just partition stuff)
/dev/sda3, ntfs, (win2k8)
/dev/sda4, empty space. note: physically located between sda1 , sda2.

windows 2008 server installed after windows xp, win2k8 has boot loader boot menu choose between xp/w2k8)

how can make ubuntu install empty space, , have boot loader lets me choose between xp/win2k8/ubuntu?

tried proceed choosing ext2fs file system, installation proggie complained hadn't chosen root. ???

in advance,

paulie

you message if haven't designated partition "/". installer version confusing canonical has developed date.

have select space, click change, , set partition mount "/".

then, let continue installation.
