Thread: Mouse and keyboard freeze when running pavucontrol, skype calls

i'm running ubuntu 10.10, 64-bit.

when run `pavucontrol` (0.9.9), or start call on skype (2.2.0.25), mouse , keyboard freeze (no input accepted).

os continues run fine, video plays, skype call works without issue.

mouse input events cease (when running `evtest /dev/input/event4`). mouse , keyboard start responding again after killing pavucontrol ssh session, or hanging call on skype.

can tell, x doesn't freeze (video, ui events continue occur), os runs fine, audio output continues speakers , headset. mouse , keyboard freeze, , because events stop reaching kernel?


if can shed light on why might happen, , how might go debugging problem, appreciative!

for record, able solve problem plugging usb keyboard , mouse directly computer.

plugged usb hub (belkin f5u407), , whatever reason hub stopped taking input when pavucontrol or skype running (obviously pulseaudio)...

anyway, else in future.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
