Reordering images

i new lr lr4 upgraded lr4.1.  can import images hard drive photo folders lr won't let me reorder them.  message "the selected source not support custom order".  why this?  find strange such sophisticated product lr doesn't allow user move images around within folder, when can done in bridge.

any ideas, please?

don't expect if can in bridge, should able exact same thing in lr. save lot of frustration. 2 programs not same, don't operate same.

 

you can indeed move photos desired order if first place them inside collection. then, in tool bar @ bottom of grid (press t if doesn't appear), select user order dropdown list of sorting options. drag things around hearts content.

note:  if have selected smart collection or folder contains other folders, user order not available in sort pop-up menu, , cannot drag sort photos in order.
