Thread: Brother scanner stopped working after upgrade to 11.04
i have brother mfc j630w working on wifi, multifunction device including printer , scanner. used work until upgraded 11.04 few months ago.
printer still works , has been working well. scanner part not.
right after upgrade, not identify device. reinstalled driver brother's website , see it, doesn't work.
when try
brsaneconfig3 -qi get
devices on network
0 scanner "mfc-j630w" i:193.168.1.66
when try
brscan-skey -li get
scanner : brother3:net1;dev0 : 193.168.1.66 not responded
when try
simple-scan -dand try scan, get

when try xsane, small window saying "scanning devices" shows up, closes, , nothing happens.
trying scan laptop, thinkpad x201 tablet ubuntu 11.04.
