Thread: Dual boot Ubuntu 11.04 with intel raid 1+0: gparted & ubiquity differ
i'm attempting install ubuntu 11.04 alongside windows vista 64 system , i'm not seeing same thing in ubiquity i'm seeing in gparted. have 4 1tb disks set intel 1+0.
point i:
1) shrunk windows partition
2) booted ubuntu live cd
3) installed kpartx
4) ran gparted , set extended partition ext4 , swap in it
5) ran ubiquity. since thinks there no installed oses, chose "something else" on formatting whole drive.
problem gparted displays partitions (correctly) this:
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array1 fat16 dellutility ...
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array2 ntfs recovery ...
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array3 ntfs os ...
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array4 extended ...
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array5 ext4 ...
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array67 linux-swap ...
ubiquity sees drive under "allocate drive space":
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array-0
/dev/mapper/isq_idhddichd_array-1
, shows no information (i.e. type, mount point, format?, size , used blank) either of these. drop-down box boot loader shows ubiquity sees these 1tb each, making me think it's seeing 2 raid-0 arrays instead of 1 raid 1+0 array. , it's not showing ext4 partition @ all.
have idea @ point?
thanks,
-mike
is fakeraid 1 + 0 supported? not sure that.
