Thread: Upgrade HPLIP for HP LaserJet m1212nf Printer

this thread covers setting ubuntu usage "hp laserjet professional m1212nf mfp" printer. goal get: printing, scanning , faxing working.

i'm running lucid 10.04 lts , want use network printer of type hp laserjet professional m1212nf mfp.

drivers printer contained in: hplip version 3.10.4 (and beyond)

pre-packaged ubuntu version of hplip @ version: 3.10.2-2ubuntu (output $ dpkg -l hplip)

page says v3.10.4 works ubuntu 10.04 , (network) printing, scanning , faxing should work.

best way install newer version of hplip without breaking synaptic package management?

hplip doesn't need synaptic installed. file download .run file. file needs exectued in terminal. best download file download folder ( /home/{username}/downloads ). open terminal, go downloads folder using: cd /home/{username}/downloads. type in following command: sudo chmod +x hplip-3.11.5.run (this make file executable). type in password , enter.

after type in: ./hplip-3.11.5.run , installation process starts. make sure choose custom installation check what's going on , see what's happening. check missing dependencies , can install them automaticly (somehwere @ beginning have enter password let installation procedure getting root priviliges). installation easy , not difficult. questions? let me know!

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
