Thread: Virtual Machine to Host communication (multiple hosts)
hi!
setup involves 2 hosts each running few virtual machines. i'm using kvm/lib-virt(virt-manager) run vms. hosts running ubuntu 11.04. hosts both going same router, gateway, etc.
want vms on host1 able 'see' host2 , able see vms running on host2 (i want able ping them, transfer files between them, etc) . involve bridged networking?
i've tried setting bridged connection, can't vms connect internet or see other parts of network. want know if i'm on right track.
if in bridged mode, guest should getting local ip address router (or dhcp provider) happening??
, yes, connect vm's on 2 different hosts, requires bridged because using 2 separate elements need meet @ single access point. hence word bridge.
if can't local ip address on guest os, indicator not have bridging setup correctly. may suggest using virtualbox run guests , making life 10x easier??
