Thread: xorg.conf ignored at boot

hi all,

have nvidia card gave me problems @ install.
escape blank screen after installing ubuntu-server-10.04 had put "nomodeset" grub flags.
enabled me login , install nvidia-current driver.
after reboot, things worked pretty well.

today, trying configure dual monitor display.
used command:
code:
sudo nvidia-xconfig --twinview
to automagically generate /etc/x11/xorg.conf file.
...after restarting x looked great!

alas....upon reboot single monitor view.
here strange part: restarting x invokes x read xorg.conf , dual screen awesomeness restored.

can think of reason why /etc/x11/xorg.conf ignored @ boot time?

help!
