Troubles moving Joomla 1.5 to a new host. - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi help.

i have existing joomla 1.5 install here: <oldurl>
the url new host here: <newurl>

i'm trying move new host , test site before point domain name new host. site simple, couple pictures , articles. had our new host cpanel move, doesn't appear have gone perfectly.

the home page works , administrator pages work (all of them). not work every article or page off of home page. every link goes 404 page.

so,

first let me have 0 experience joomla. have experience wordpress only, novice-level stuff only.

i looked in administrator page "siteurl" in wp, found no settings.
i looked in configuration.php , found "livesite" value. set " '' " (two ticks). entered new site url, no effect on issue seen.
i checked .htaccess file between old host , new host - same contents, same file size, same permissions.
i haven't found through google either.

any idea issue is?
