Front end Login gives error 404 - Component not found - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi,

i have upgraded site joomla 2.5.8 , have problems logging front end. rest of site functioning correctly, including login backend.

but when try login frontend, following error:

404 - component not found

you may not able visit page because of:

an out-of-date bookmark/favourite
a search engine has out-of-date listing site
a mistyped address
you have no access page
the requested resource not found.
an error has occurred while processing request.
please try 1 of following pages:

home page
if difficulties persist, please contact system administrator of site , report error below..



i have "module login" enabled, set redirect menu item "login" on both login , logout (same settings used on old joomla 1.5 site).

i have looked @ various suggestions on forums, nothing seems work (e.g. have default menu item set).

any suggestions welcome.
