Mac OS X 10.8 + PPro CS6.0.1, AMD Graphics crash? Entire computer freezes
today experienced series of bizarre full system freezes when editing in premiere pro cs6 (version 6.0.1). editing in 1080p 23.967 sequence , had added keyframes still images, , when attempted place playback bar preview keyframing, mac froze immediately. froze, not premiere pro. mouse cursor thing under control. forced hard reboot.
second attempt: attempted redo image keyframing, since didn't have chance save (nor have ppro auto-save). did exact same procedure , system froze before.
third attempt: thinking whatever reason, ppro didn't .jpg image, saved .psd , reimported ppro. able keyframe it, attempted playpack clips in timeline ahead of images , system froze again.
i restarted again, , luckily had saved work after keyframing, , went rest of editing of project. avoided playback of sequence near parts still images. fine, , video exported , looked great.
between crashes able sneak glance @ console, unfortunately there no crash reports share. able scroll through console messages , saw bunch of entries:
kernel[0]: ** gpu debug info start **
kernel[0]: 0x0000944a
kernel[0]: 0x000000cb
kernel[0]: 0x00000001
kernel[0]: 0x00000018
kernel[0]: 0x0000d062
kernel[0]: 0x00000001
...
i had tons of these kernel entries repeated multiple of times right before console entrie system reboot message. uneducated guess @ console error, i'm guessing has gpu.
my system 2011 17" macbook pro 2.2ghz core i7, 16gb ram, 480gb owc ssd, amd radeon 6750m 1gb gpu. i'm running 10.8 , premiere pro media being stored on fw800 drives.
any ideas?
thanks,
william
do have cuda enabled? if so, try disabling (go sofrtware only) , see if problem still happens. seems there lots of cuda issues on mac still need resolved. have cuda disabled of time , enable final output rendering. sad, true.
