Converting PDF files to Excel Documents Inquiry

i have financial statements statement of assets , liabilities have had difficulty converting pdf file excel using acrobat x pro.

in statement of assets , liabilities have 1 column descriptions of assets , liabilities , second column numerical values.  problem when converting pdf excel asset , liabilities share same cell numerical value , other times in different cells.

what trying achieve consistently having excel file numerical values in separate column.  have been told pdf trying convert may complex optical character recognition (ocr) technology used in acrobat x pro.   have suggestions?

thank

in practical sense there's not lot can - if acrobat trying export scanned file has no idea structure is, has make guesses based on x/y position of each text object (it can't see borders or fills aren't ocred). if pdf came authoring application , had structure tags export perfectly, putting tags onto table in ocred file nightmare of job - it'd quicker type out again in excel.
