Having problems scaling down image

hi there, hoping here may able answer query have.

 

i'm creating following icon in illustrator:

the image created within illustrator using shape , pathfinder tools, problem i'm having when come scaling down, happens:

the strange thing when scale icon upwards should, problems coming scaling down.

 

i think may have size of image already, it's quite small, approximately 50px accross. i'm looking down 25-30 px accross, when take down 40px distortion occurs , gets worse make smaller.. thought may have handles on anchor points overlapping? i'm not sure i've never had issue before, although i've never worked @ small scale before either.

 

any on appreciated.

in transform palette turn off align pixel grid, prior scaling. adobe since cs5 has made on default when create rgb document.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
