How to rewrite site URL to a new domain or subdomain? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

my client's website located @ www.currentsite.net.
my client wants rewrite above url catalogue.xyz.net.
i don't think simple rewrite rule in .htacess file can this. there joomla extensions make happen along .htaccess file?
