Thread: Getting message "atkbd serio0:Unknown key pressed" when trying to install Ubuntu 11.4
i downloaded ubuntu 11.04 , put on usb stick explained on site. when booted usb stick, , chose "try ubuntu", began start normally, until gave hundreds of messages like
"atkbd serio0: unknown key pressed (translatesat 2, code 0x8d on isa0060/serio0)
use 'setkeycodes e00d <keycode>' make known"
after few minutes, these error messages stopped , screen logo of ubuntu appeared (like should when start ubuntu). screen stayed few minutes , afterwards disappeared again. @ moment got again text screen, , tens of pages of letters , ciphers written on screen, couldn't follow it, because new text came quickly.
after 5 minutes, put computer off.
tried option "install ubuntu" when booted usb stick, , similar problems occurred. first began normally, afterwards got same error messages "unknown key pressed", after few minutes saw logo of ubuntu, , few minutes later disappeared , saw again many letters , ciphers, time stopped after 10 seconds, , got again error messages before (unknown key pressed). decided wait , see happen, after more 5 minutes still had same errors "unknown key pressed". can't try nor install ubuntu.
have dell vostro 1000 (laptop) amd turion 64 x2 mobile technology tl-56 1.80 ghz, still have windows vista, , tried install ubuntu 11.04 i386.
have found other similar topics on internet, had problems when installed ubuntu, , solutions suggested there can applied when have installed ubuntu.

it looks have graphics problem of sort, it's hard tell little information. have tried setting nomodeset? when see little man , keyboard on initial screen, press key see menu, press f6, select nomodeset, press esc menu screen, , press enter.
