Thread: Ubuntu 11.04 on iMac - issues....
guys,
have 2.4 ghz imac 2007 core ii duo processor , ati 2600 hd graphics card. had osx (sl) , windows 7 installed earlier. avoid pressing alt key osx started, installed refit gave me idea triple boot system linux. repartitioned system , installed unity (ubuntu 11.04) on it. installation smooth somehow bluetooth did not work. using proprietary ati/amd driver hardware in unity , system works great (even 3d cube works fine).
though of upgrading kernel 2.6.39.0 system gives error while loading files. error promarily flgrx driver. keeps giving [fail] result. when had replaced proprietary driver ati open source driver, upgrade kernel 3.0. bluetooth gat "enabled" not connect magic mouse.
have reinstalled system 2.6.38.8 kernel , keeping simple earlier efforts required 6-7 reinstallations of unity. please offer solutions if bluetooth can enabled present kernel or how safely upgrade kernel without loading open souce ati driver.
have tried "sudo service bluetooth restart" , work have every time reboot syatem, hence not desired.
hello, friend...
solution not elegant think you'll find fine because should work.
open terminal window , once in digit:
sudo nano /etc/rc.local
in moment editing particular config file (all config files stored in etc folder): rc.local
written in file executed root user when personal computer boots.
have add rc.local rows one:
service bluetooth restart
, save (press control + x exit , press y save file , enter)
reboot , should happy.
have fun!
